Juan Sebastián Salazar is currently the Technical Director or ICONTEC where his responsibilities are to lead the administration and provision of all Conformity Assessment services as well as education, health sector Accreditation and Cooperation services; defining strategic planning for the mentioned services lines, as well as technical transversal guidelines; ensuring compliance with the policies, standards and procedures defined by ICONTEC and the requirements of the applicable international accreditation or certification standards applicable to the services. He also engages in and directs the different areas involved in providing the services to achieve compliance with the commercial, technical, operational and administrative strategic goals and objectives. He participates in the development of new lines of services and leads the sectorisation strategy of ICONTEC.
He is Industrial Engineer and graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with a post graduate studies in commercial and sales management from the Universidad de La Sabana. He gained extensive experience in commercial, operational, administrative and technical areas, in sector management, strategy and strategic planning, cost control, operational efficiency, commercial tactics, management of P&L, budgets, operation, logistics and coordination, team leadership, quality
management and quality control through indicators.
Before joining ICONTEC, he worked, among others, for SGS Colombia.
