Ms. Regina KOHLMEYER graduated in environmental engineering at the Technische Universität Berlin. She has been working in environmental issues for 22 years.

Since 2003, she has been working with the German Environment Agency (UBA) as a scientific officer. The UBA is Germany’s central and scientific federal environmental authority that comes within the remit of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment.

Attached to the section for extended producer responsibility, Regina KOHLMEYER has been working in the field of the recycling and resource efficiency of end-of-life vehicles, WEEE and batteries for more than 10 years. She is a member of the Technical Adaptation Committee of the European End-of-Life Vehicles Directive.

One of her section’s recent activities has been to elaborate recommendations for a Germany ordinance for the treatment of WEEE – including requirements for improved recovery of valuable and critical raw materials (CRMs) as well as considering the CENELEC standards of the EN 50625 series.
